The morning session was mainly about correlation setup work from the simulator earlier in the week to the on track action in preparation for this test day, as well as the race day next weekend.
Simmons set the fastest time in the morning from rival Logan Sargeant by 0.043s around the high speed circuit. Lead YRDA and Arden driver in the British F4 Standings Piastri set the 6th fastest time in the morning and Ford F4 Challenge Cup racer Caldwell set the 8th quickest time of the morning.
Teammate Alex Quinn was not in attendance for the test day and neither was fellow YRDA backed driver Jamie Sharp of Sharp Motorsport.
The afternoon session saw times improve slightly. This time Piastri would take the lead YRDA spot in the times, by just 0.010s from teammate Simmons, as the Arden pair set the 3rd and 4th fastest times respectively. Caldwell ended the day as the fastest Challenge Cup driver in 9th overall, just a second off the leading pace set by Sargeant.
Between the three drivers, they amassed 324 laps for TRS Arden, a huge amount of useful on track test data to analyse for the team back at Banbury, as well as compare with the simulator work so they can be fully prepared for the British F4 event at Rockingham on the 26-27 August.
All five British F4 YRDA drivers will be in attendance next week as a part of the BTCC support series. Alongside Ginetta Junior Drivers Tom Wood, Tom Canning and Emily Linscott - who makes her debut in the championship for Elite Motorsport.
