The Young Racing Driver Academy is very excited to announce our new addition to the team, Aaron Mensah. The Daniel Ricciardo Series driver will be competing right at the sharp end in 2021. After a strong first year in the class in 2020, the future champion is looking to add more trophies to his growing cabinet.

Aaron is a Young talent who came onto the YRDA’s radar earlier this year. After an impressive debut season in the Daniel Ricciardo Series, racing against our very own Rowan Campbell-Pilling, Aaron has continued to impress as the 2021 season has gotten underway.

At the young age of 14 Aaron is no stranger to being up at the front and with the Daniel Ricciardo Series providing a level playing field for all this echoes his immense talent and potential. In the 2020 season while at Shenington, Aaron secured his best result of the year with a 5th place finish on a full grid of highly competitive drivers.

Aaron prides himself on his wet weather skills and is becoming somewhat a master at the art, and with the aim of following Lewis Hamilton, one of the best wet weather drivers in the world, this certainly is a good start. Aaron’s core strengths are persistence, precision and confidence.  All of which are key attributes of any #YRDArmy member and a key pillar to reaching the end goal.

Keeping fit certainly shouldn’t be a problem for the young gun as a keen athlete Aaron will be in fine shape as the season continues and working closely with our very own Chris Ray he will be looking to tune his fitness to optimise his body on track.

All of the team at the Young Racing Driver Academy are delighted to have Aaron on board and are looking forward to seeing his progress and success. Check out what Aaron has to say about joining the Programme.

“I am really excited that I am joining the YRDA because this is the first step to hopefully becoming an Arden F4 Driver. Also I am really enjoying the YRDA  Simulator sessions, it's so cool and lots of fun to drive round different tracks.”

The next round of Aarons 2021 season will see him head off to Rissington where he will be ready to do battle and aim to outdo his best and claim his maiden DRS podium.
