Fantastic Frederick storms to rookie victory at Croft

October 14, 2020

British F4

It was a weekend of great success for Ardens #ReadArrows, as Frederick Lubin drove superbly to claim his 5th rookie win of the season.

The weekends round of the British F4 season took our Formula 4 drivers over to Croft circuit and Lubin who had shown great form in pre season at the track, got off to a great start claiming P4 and P3 in the first two practice sessions of the weekend.

His fine form translated over into a great qualifying session as he took a season's best of 6th place on the grid. This set Lubin up perfectly for race one and he did not disappoint. Battling through and fighting hard in the 20 minute race saw Lubin cross the line to claim another rookie win and matching his season's best result of 4th place.

The next race of the weekend didn't bring the same luck for Lubi,n however he still picked up some great points to take P7 at the flag and round off a good weekend's racing.

Personal bests and a defensive masterclass: Positives to take away for Bilinski

The theme of matching and beating seasons' bests continued as Roman Bilinski took to the Croft circuit at the weekend.

A very impressive run through practice translated into a great qualifying result with a P4 result and a second row starting position for race one, claiming a season's best starting position for the Polish superstar.

Race one saw a fantastic drive for Bilinski putting on a defensive masterclass as he fought tooth and nail to the end to claim a good amount of points and take P5 at the flag.

Race 2 sadly brought a DNF for the young talent, after suffering issues during the race. However many positives can be taken away heading into the final two rounds of the season.

Damage limitation for Alex Connor

It wasn’t the desired weekend for #YRDArmy superstar Alex Connor at Croft, as he managed to claim points to remain in the hunt for a good championship result.

Practice saw some promising pace from Connor as he looked in good form heading into qualifying. The timed session to decide the starting positions of the weekend saw a P8 result for Connor, not the desired result but which still left the young Brit in a strong place to make some moves through the field.

Race one brought a constructive drive for Connor battling hard to the flag and claiming P7 at the end to bring home some good points to add to a strong collection for the whole Arden team in race one.

Like teammate Roman Bilinski, Connor also sadly suffered a DNF in race 2 of the weekend, bringing an end to a tough weekend racing at Croft but leaving Alex in a good position heading into the remaining rounds.

The #Redarrows now take a break before a trip to Snetterton for 3 races.
