It was recently announced that Bart Horsten has signed with Arden Motorsport to race in the British F4 Championship for 2019 and the 16-year-old Australian will also join the YRDA programme. He will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen and YRDA member, Oscar Piastri, who this year will race in the Formula Renault Eurocup Championship for a second season with R-ace GP.

Horsten comes into the championship with single seater experience having raced in the Australian Formula Ford Series for the last two years. It has given him valuable experience which should help Horsten be competitive from the off and given he will race with the defending Teams and Rookies Champions leaves him in very safe hands.

Over the last two years Horsten has already experienced several podiums in the Formula Ford championships and had a successful Karting career before that. However, the transition to racing in Europe is not always easy and over the next three months Horsten will be working hard with the team in preparation for the season opener at Brands Hatch in April.

Announcements on Horsten’s teammates for the 2019 season will be announced in the coming weeks along with more announcements on new drivers set to join YRDA.

Bart Horsten: “I’m extremely excited to be racing with Arden in next year’s British F4 Championship. I can’t think them enough for their help in making the move to the UK and providing such a welcoming environment. I have huge confidence in the team and what they can achieve next season.”
Jamie Horner, YRDA Director: “We are delighted that Bart has joined the YRDA and will be racing with Arden in the British F4 and look forward to supporting his Championship challenge.”
