The 2020 Formula Renault Rookie Champion and race winner Alex continues with the Arden squad in 2021 as he aims to be the class of the field this season and take the honors in the newly named Formula Regional By Alpine Championship.
The preseason tests have been a reflection of his season aims as he looked strong throughout the tests which took the team to multiple circuits.
Alex Quinn - “It was great to get out to Imola, Barcelona, and Paul Ricard testing once again. The formula Regional championship is going to be extremely tight and competitive this year so I will need to be focussing 100% on every little detail. During testing our speed looked good it’s now just about putting everything together. I was really pleased with how the car felt and how the team worked so feeling positive for the first round at Imola.”
A new season, a new championship, and the same target, Frederick Lubin is set to lead Arden Motorsport into their first season of the British F3 championship, and the days till round one are counting down and the pace looks good.
After an impressive rookie season in 2020 with the Arden team in British F4 Lubin will be looking to use all experience gained to make a strong mark on the highly competitive field in 2021.
Frederick Lubin - “I’m really happy with testing so far. There’s been a lot of hard work put in from the team and everybody involved, being our first year in the championship for both myself and the team it’s been tough, obviously, we have no historical data so we’ve had to learn everything ourselves but our pace has been really strong and hopefully, we can carry that into some good results this year. A massive thank you to everybody involved!”
The other driver in the Arden British F3 camp is F4 race winner Alex Connor who was the most recent member of the #YRDArmy to be announced. An impressive single-seater CV means Connor will be looking to battle at the sharp end in 2021 and bring Arden some all-important silverware.
Alex Connor - “I’m very happy to have the chance to move up to the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with Arden.
The team and the YRDA have supported me from the very start of my racing journey and we all worked very well together in British F4 so I know that we are going to be able to focus 100% on a really strong debut season right from the start.
The championship races on some of my favorite tracks, so I can’t wait to tackle them with the extra speed and power of the F3 car - and I know that Spa is going to be awesome!”
2021 will be the return of a full YRDA lineup in Arden’s British F4 campaign and both young talents in the shape of Zak Taylor and Tom Ikin are ready to battle at the sharp end.
The preseason shows some promising signs with both championships in the eye line of rookie Tom Ikin and the overall championship in those of Taylor. 2021 is set to be an exciting year for the #RedArrows and both prospects are hyped to get going.
Zak Taylor - “Testings went well, always increasing my confidence in the car and after media day I know where my main areas of improvement are and with the car, the team can give me I’m sure we’ll be fighting for wins during the season”
“We’ve been progressing strongly during pre-season since we started testing in October, which I feel has reflected in my performance at the Official Test at Silverstone. Although I am happy with how I’m progressing there are still things for me to continue to focus on before the season starts next month to ensure I can qualify and finish races as high as possible.
The support from Arden and YRDA has been great and I can’t wait to see what we can do together when the season starts.”
So the stage is set for what looks to be an exciting year of the single-seater squad of the #YRDArmy and plenty of silverware is sure to be returning to Banbury this year. Keep your eyes peeled for updates across all our social platforms.
